663 war graves have been recorded in Dumfries & Galloway; the majority of these are under the care of the Commonwealth War Graves Commission. For full details of war graves (dates, names, localities etc) see the Commonwealth War Graves Commission Search.

In June 2005 we commenced checking and photographing all the localities shown below in order to confirm exact locations and graves as we initially found a number of errors and out-of-date information in war grave records – this task was completed by April 2006, but updating continues.

An index of casualties with localities of their graves in Dumfries & Galloway follows the list below. Please note that this is not a list of memorials.
